Palo Verde Apartments is a 35,200-square-foot, three-story, affordable residential apartment building comprised of 45 units for the chronically homeless with mental disabilities, 15 affordable units for low-income adults and 1 superintendent unit. The project provides 7,100 sf of open space, including a private internal courtyard. An at-grade garage provides 45 parking spaces. The design employs simple, affordable components of an overall indoor-outdoor spirit that marries tradition with affordability. Palo Verde received the 2012 Chairman’s Honorable Mention at the 42nd Annual Los Angeles Architectural Awards.

"Jim [Dreyfuss] and his staff were thoroughly professional throughout the course of construction, they were proactive in bringing up questions and resolving construction issues, they were great to work with, cooperative negotiating changes and reactive toward urgent issues during the construction process."
